President's Welcome

Greetings,

Welcome to the official site of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, Omicron Gamma Zeta Chapter (OGZ); it is an honor and pleasure to greet you! As you explore our virtual platform, I hope you enjoy learning about our OUTSTANDING and AWARD WINNING chapter.

In 1990, OGZ was chartered in the Houston, TX-Clear Lake area and since our inception, we have embraced the ability to empower and make a positive impact in the community we serve. Throughout the years, OGZ has been intentional about serving where there is a need which has allowed us to strengthen our relationships and collaborative efforts with many organizations, businesses, educational institutions, and civic leaders in the area and beyond.

As one of the largest Zeta chapters in the Houston Metropolitan area, our chapter members come from various backgrounds, which contributes to our innovative initatives, continuous growth, and improvement towards OUTSTANDING excellence. As leaders, mentors, advocates, role models, and life long learners; our members strive to continue the legacy of our founders (i.e. our Five Pearls) while upholding Zeta's sorority principals: Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood, and Finer Womanhood.

As a community conscious action-oriented organization, our chapter has worked tirelessly to ensure we commit to investing in our community and the next generation of leaders through the diversification of our strategic efforts. While not limited, some of our programs and initatives are as follows: The Power of S.H.E (social, health, economic justice), March of Dimes Walk, Community Baby Shower, Adopt-a-School, Stroll to the Polls initiative (#GETENGAGED), Domestic Violence Awareness w/And I Stand Nonprofit, Mental Health Awareness-Zetas Go Green, Cancer awareness-Paint the Church Pink, Zeta Auxiliary group programs, Wreaths Across America, and our major Scholarship Award Event (Aundria Brown Striving for Excellence event).
